Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources Manager with a minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience in Canada. The ideal candidate is deeply knowledgeable about Canadian Labor legislation, employment standard across multiple provinces, workplace compliance, HR best practices, and organizational development. This role will lead HR operations, support strategic initiatives, and ensure the company maintain full compliance with federal and provincial regulations.

Responsibilities

  1. HR Leadership and Strategy
  • Lead the planning, development, and execution of HR strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on all HR matters, including workforce planning, employee relations and talent development.
  1. Compliance and Regulatory Oversight
  • Ensure full compliance with Canadian federal and provincial labor laws (Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Codes, OH&S legislation, WSIB/ Work safe compliance, privacy laws, etc.)
  • Develop, update, and implement HR policies, procedures, and compliance programs.
  • Assist in conducting safety training and implementing compliance programs.
  •  Lead internal audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate compliance gaps.
  • Manage workplace investigations in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
  1. Employee Relations and Performance Management
  • Oversee complex employee relations issues, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
  • Develop and manage performance management frameworks, coaching programs, and documentation protocols.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture.
  1. Recruitment, Talent Management and Onboarding
    • Oversee full-cycle recruitment strategies for all open roles
    • Develop succession plans, talent pipelines, and leadership development programs.
    • Ensure onboarding and training programs meet compliance and organizational standards.
  2. Compensation, Benefits and HR Operations
    • Support compensation and benefits strategy, including pay equity, job evaluation, and benchmarking.
    • Oversee payroll compliance and HR systems integrity
    • Manage HR analytics, reporting, and workforce metrics to support data- driven decisions.
  3. Health, Safety and Wellness
    • Ensure compliance with QH&S requirements and workplace safety standards.
    • Oversee return-to-work programs, disability case management, and accommodation processes.
    • Champion organizational wellness and mental health initiatives.

Requirements

  • A degree focusing on Human resources or related courses.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive Canadian HR experience, with at least 5 years in management or senior- level role.
  • Extensive knowledge of Canadian employment laws, multi- province compliance, HR best practices, and workplace investigations required
  • CHRP/ CHRL/ CPHR designation is preferred.
  • Experience working in manufacturing industry is an asset
  • Proven experience leading HR teams and managing organizational change.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in HRIS systems and workforce analytics.
  • Strong business acumen
