Job Duties
The successful candidate will perform the following duties:
- Develop, prepare, and deliver STEM and robotics courses for K–12 students, including robotics systems, programming, mechanical design, CAD, sensors, engineering principles, and the engineering design process.
- Design, update, and continuously improve curriculum, lesson plans, instructional materials, project-based learning activities, and classroom resources to support student learning and program objectives.
- Deliver classroom instruction and hands-on technical training using robotics platforms such as VEX IQ, VEX V5, programming software, and related engineering technologies.
- Assess student learning outcomes through assignments, practical exercises, projects and presentations; maintain student progress records, prepare assessment reports, provide constructive feedback, and adapt instructional methods to meet students' learning needs and skill levels..
- Guide students through robotics projects, engineering notebooks, design reviews, programming challenges, prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and other practical STEM learning activities.
- Prepare, mentor, and coach students for VEX Robotics competitions by providing instruction in robot design, programming, engineering documentation, competition rules, teamwork, and problem-solving strategies.
- Conduct lectures, technical workshops, robotics practices, group discussions, and competition simulations to strengthen students' technical knowledge, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Mentor assistant instructors by sharing curriculum resources, instructional techniques, and classroom management practices to ensure consistent program delivery.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, learning objectives, course pathways, robotics program development, competition preparation, and educational goals.
- Maintain robotics equipment, classroom materials, and technical resources, and remain current with advancements in robotics technology, STEM education practices, and VEX Robotics Competition requirements.
